A very colorful toy

- Resized Image to 400 X 600
- Resized Canvas to 422 x 622
- Stroke with black color, 1px, inside
I just like the funny gaze of this character, and wanted to emphasize on it, at the same time, wanted to capture its full spectrum of colors. I was, shooting in low light, so opened up aperture to its maximum F5.3, allowed by 18-55 mm kit lens at full zoom (i.e. 55mm). Hence the shallow depth of field, which actually puts even more emphasis on the face of the character. And, yes I know it is not perfectly centered in the frame.

Hi there - found you via a web search on 20D and appreciate your diary of decision making. I just bought 20D as well for similar reasons, and am learning the myriad of functions/settings. Thanks for posting the elements 2.0 tweaks you used - can you elaborate on stroke 1px inside - is that a border choice for elements?

Thanks for your comments. I am sure you will have lot of fun using 20D and learning new things.
I wanted to add a white border 10 pixels wide all around the image to give it a "post-card look". Also wanted to add a 1 pixel border around the white border to define the boundary on a white background page like this one. So, after resizing the image, I increased the canvas in width and height by 22 pixels - which created an 11 pixel border all around. Then, I selected the whole image (Ctrl+A) and used menu Edit -> Stroke, 1px, black color, inside option, to create a 1 pixel border inside the image.
Hope this answers your query.
I am sure there are other ways to get the same end result.
